YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB embarks on a new chapter with ambitious sophomore EP We’re all gonna die anyway,
French-Cameroonian singer-songwriter and producer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB has been quietly working on the follow-up to her debut EP I Thought I Knew You, Boy Was I Wrong since October 2023. Her new EP, We’re all gonna die anyway, captures a seamless continuation of her debut’s story— showcasing her artistic development while maintaining her distinct musical identity.
Featuring 9 emotionally-charged tracks, YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB’s latest EP seamlessly blends indie, alternative, and bedroom pop with sprinkles of folk and world music. A standout collaboration with tmdistant on “Lose Our Minds” injects a dynamic element into her already captivating sound.
Known for producing, mixing and mastering her own work, this EP also includes two co-productions— dontheprod lends his expertise to the politically-infused “Jesus of New Jersey”, while Song Higginson contributes to the sun-soaked indie pop track “Lose Our Minds”. Additionally, the project boasts a co-write with Australian singer-songwriter ALBI. on “Something Real”, who also provides backing vocals, enriching the EP’s diverse soundscape.
