tmdistant marks the start of a new era with new single “need to get out of here”
After much teasing on his social media accounts in recent weeks, Essex-based alternative tmdistant has unveiled his new single, “need to get out of here”. The Song Higginson-produced track marks the start of a new chapter for the artist.
“need to get out of here” is a considerable departure from his previous releases, which were more inclined towards hyperpop and glitch pop. The song’s bouncy production contrasts with its lyrics, which highlight the rough journey of leaving a toxic relationship.
“‘need to get out of here’ embodies being stuck in a toxic relationship or anything you don’t want to be in but can’t seem to find your way out. I wrote this in a time of need but not knowing what I needed. I got inspiration from seeing my friends being sucked in and out of situationships and struggles with the same people, and the same problems. Sometimes all you need is an escape…” — tmdistant.
tmdistant sounds more self-assured than ever as he cements himself as one to watch by effortlessly showcasing his ability to craft sticky melodies with relatable lyrics that instantly connect with listeners. He headlines his sold out gig at Servant Jazz Quarters in London tonight— making his debut with his band.
