The duo’s title track for their new EP Same Blood, co-produced with Jack Hardman, is a mesmerising blend of sonic beauty and raw emotion. Lush melodies flow effortlessly over the polished production which instantly draws you in.
Lyrically, the song explores friendships, the longing for connection, and the complex layers of mental health and therapy. With it’s heartfelt message and captivating sound, it’s a track that begs to be played again and again— a wholesome track worth a listen.
“‘Same Blood’ captures the intricacies and changes of pace within the closest of long-term friendships, and our experience with specifically how powerful female friendship can be, when growing up together. All of the songs stem from moments or concepts which can make you feel vulnerable and overwhelmed – friendship, new love, driving lessons [!!], death – but also powerful and certain. As we’ve grown up, in some ways we’ve become more certain of who we are individually, and each let go of things or people along the way, when necessary, but we’ve been a constant for each other and it’s special”. — Amy Illingworth (Sunflower Thieves).
