Stream Luna Scar’s New Album ‘The Relationship Between Unrelated Concepts’

Miami-based, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and self-taught producer Luna Scar has released her new album The Relationship Between Unrelated Concepts.

Yarelis Santos-Cruz known professionally as Luna Scar released her debut album SOHBER at the age of 16 and fast forward three years later she’s back with another full length project titled The Relationship Between Unrelated Concepts. The dark pop album is a tale of blood, liquor and heartbreak sang over electronic-centred productions which places her amongst other artists in the same sub-genre such as BANKS, Lorde, and Halsey.

“This album really got me through times I didn’t even think I would make it out of. I found myself in a completely new phase of life and was figuring out the best ways to adapt. Because of it, I forced myself to be in social environments, started drinking, and other kinds of things that were out of character. I lost parts of myself trying to pick up my bones. The record itself was written anywhere I had the chance to pick up a pen- at work, in school during my senior year, in the bathroom. The production piece gave me something to distract myself with and to look forward to. As usual, I record everything in the middle of my bedroom and my amazing engineer Qvon adds his magic. The project would not be able to stand without him. All my music is meant to serve the singular purpose of healing myself and others. Remaining optimistic is always key; hopefully my album will grow delicious fruits of my treacherous emotional labour”Luna Scar.

While many emerging artists rely on other producers to help them define their sound, Luna Scar has self-produced a thoroughly enjoyable project that she should be proud of. Standout track “Ego” is evident that she’ll be around for many years to come.
