She’s In Parties release new single “The Times”
Led by Irish-born singer Katie Dillon, alongside her friends Herbie Wiseman on guitar, Matt Carman on drums, and Charlie Johnson on bass, the Essex-based quartet She’s In Parties are known for their captivating blend of shoegaze and dream-pop.
Their latest offering “The Times” comes with a Polocho-directed music video and is an introspective indie rock track that explores Katie’s frustrations with social media as a musician in the 21st century. It’s the third single from their forthcoming EP, Puppet Show, set to be released on 25th October via Submarine Cat Records.
“This song is about my internal battle with this new era of social media we live in. The lyrics ‘rewrite your mind’ pretty much just mean that I need to rethink what I thought being a musician was like, and get with ‘the times’. If I don’t do it, somebody else will. One voice tells me they can ‘take it all away’ if we don’t use social media to try and make it as a band. Another voice tells me to ‘rewrite’ my mind, so maybe it’s not so bad to use this new tool of promotion.” — Katie Dillon.
