Latin music has been evolving in the past few years, artists are not only creating reggaeton music but they are combining it with R&B, trap and other styles of music effortlessly, leaving a lasting impression on many listeners. Step forward SANTI, a dynamic Latin R&B duo from Peru. Their story is somewhat inspiring; a long shot email of their first demos got into the hands of Fernando Garibay, who produced Lady Gaga’s album Born This Way and has worked with the likes of U2, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Enrique Iglesias and Shakira. After offering early crucial guidance, Garibay brought the pair from Boston into his West Hollywood studio in summer of 2018 to finalise the project that would introduce them to the world.
Their brand new single “Otra Más” is an infectiously addictive song with a lush production that pulls you in. Mesmerising vocals throughout and a melodic flow gives this song strong replay value. Although it’s sang in Spanish, there’s a commercial appeal behind it — one that will attract people from all corners of the world. If all of Latin R&B sounds this good, then we surely want more of it.
