Salty Licorice — North Sea Siren (p.78)

Swedish rising star Salty Licorice returns with brilliant new single “North Sea Siren (p.78)”

Despite having only three singles to her name, Swedish-Palestinian/Iraqi independent artist Salty Licorice has already attracted attention from tastemakers like The Line of Best Fit and MTV, and has also been featured on the BBC.

Known for blending alternative pop and R&B with electronic elements, she draws inspiration from artists such as Caroline Polachek, Imogen Heap, Taylor Swift, Rosalia, FKA Twigs, and Lykke Li.

Today, she returns with her stunning new single “North Sea Siren (p.78)”, an introspective track that delves into themes of feeling irrelevant, the desire for change and the longing for a place to call home. She delivers a breathtaking vocal performance which instantly draws listeners in, as well as captivates them. The track is taken from her forthcoming EP, The Sunrise Cried, which draws inspiration from the dancer, courtesan, and alleged spy Mata Hari, as portrayed in Paulo Coelho’s novel The Spy (2016)
