Canadian artist Ruby Waters drops new single “Open Arms”
Blessed with a recognisable raspy voice, Ruby Waters is setting the stage as the next alternative artist to take over. She’s ready to make waves in the US and beyond this year after making her US debut in June at three selects venues— Hotel Cafe, Globe Hall and Mercury Lounge, to sold-out crowds.
Showcasing her soulful flair, her latest offering “Open Arms” is a well-written song sung with so much passion and emotion— lyrically it’s about accepting life as it comes. It instantly sticks with listeners, stirring up emotion and making new listeners like us want to hear more. She’ll be following up with a North American tour in support of a third EP slated for release later this year. Let’s hope there’s a UK/Europe tour too in the near future.
“I wrote “Open Arms” in Spain last spring at a song writing camp I was lucky to be invited to. The song came so naturally. [It’s] about how I like to deal with shit, my outlets, and how to handle the ups and downs. It doesn’t always have to be a weakness or a problem to be depressed or overwhelmed, it can sometimes just be a part of life, and however you cope with it isn’t something to be ashamed of.” — Ruby Waters.
