London-based experimental electronic artist ROJAZ releases stunning new single “Cafè”
London-based Spanish artist ROJAZ makes her DNü debut with her stunning new single “Cafè”, a track which seamlessly blends house and UKG to create an infectious sound that you cannot ignore.
Sung in both Spanish and English, coffee (cafe) is used to depict a stage in a relationship and as a metaphor for passion. Alluding to the awkward moment that often occurs when a breakup or relationship is decided with an uncomfortable conversation over coffee.
“Cafe was my first time really allowing myself to write in Spanish for my music, and it really gave birth to what has now become my next EP’s sound. Most electronic artists that inspire me now and the music I grew up with has English lyrics. I also wasn’t used to expressing my emotions in Spanish lyrics, so even it is my first language it was a strange feeling at first. Bringing it to the UKG and electronic sound I love also felt completely alien. But I sat down and started playing with a melody and without even trying to it just happened.” – ROJAZ.
