Restless Modern returns with new single “on and on”
25 year-old Wisconsin-based singer, songwriter and producer Restless Modern has been one of the most consistent emerging artists in the past two years. Releasing countless of singles that has earned over 23 million streams on Spotify alone, and featured on outlets like Billboard, Lyrical Lemonade, MTV and Atwood.
He’s back with arguably his best release to date, “on and on”. Co-produced with Peter Thomas (P!nk, Betty Who, Allie X, COIN, VÉRITÉ, Selena Gomez, RAC, and others), the song is built over a captivating pop production as Restless Modern details some of the most difficult and important conversations in society.
“To combat this, “on and on” covers its thematically dark underbelly with a billowing presentation of glittery pop-plastic elements meant both to distract superficially from and contextually lean into its confrontation of gaslighting, manipulation, and abuse. The fictional protagonist of this story is absent any redeeming moral constitution, in spite of an emerging self-awareness, but appears to be frustratingly human.
