Rationale & Ayelle Shine On Excellent Collaboration “Hurts The Most”

London-based multi-instrumentalist Rationale’s collaboration with rising Swedish-Iranian singer-songwriter Ayelle is a must listen. The record has a nostalgic vibe throughout as both acts deliver a captivating vocal performance built over a lush production. A simply amazing collaboration that will resonate with many listeners.

“I’m talking about what affects us the most in relationships. Every relationship I’ve ever had, it’s always been the same pattern—you have this wonderful honeymoon period where you want to bunk off work and spend all your time together. Then the other person (usually!) ends up changing. All the words they say from that point stick like glue and you can’t understand how you’ve got from that loving point, which was very clear, to the other place, which is bathed in confrontation and bitterness.”Rationale.

London multi-instrumentalist Rationale has collaborated with fast-rising Swedish-Iranian singer Ayelle for his brand new single ‘Hurts The Most’, released via Best Laid Plans on September 27. He recently sold-out his upcoming headline show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on November 20.

The heart-grabbing slow-dance is built from a downtempo, elegant, soul-powered sound, and the honeyed duet hints at a ‘90s R&B classic, while Rationale’s sky-high voice swells and soars with a passion that compounds the song’s romantic meditations.

“I’m talking about what affects us the most in relationships,” he says of the track. “Every relationship I’ve ever had, it’s always been the same pattern—you have this wonderful honeymoon period where you want to bunk off work and spend all your time together. Then the other person (usually!) ends up changing. All the words they say from that point stick like glue and you can’t understand how you’ve got from that loving point, which was very clear, to the other place, which is bathed in confrontation and bitterness.”
