London-based rapper/singer R.A.E (Rise Above Everything) returns with another music video for her latest single “Damn Jermaine”, produced by Ykkub. Directed by Enitan Adepitan and shot by Ibrahim Kamara — the visuals has a nostalgic vibe to it which matches the 90’s hip-hop production.
“Damn Jermaine is fictional, I saw similar situations like this on tv and stories friends told me, so decided to write about it” — says R.A.E.
Paying homage to 90’s fashion with its colourful and well-directed music video, “Damn jermaine” is an enjoyable watch from start to finish. She flips the American aesthetic with a British twist effortlessly. We’re expecting big things from R.A.E, an artist influenced by the likes of Left Eye, Da Brat and MC Lyte.
