London-based indie folk newcomer Ormella releases haunting new single “STICK THE KNIFE IN”
With two singles under her belt, London-based indie folk sensation Ormella has already drawn praises from the likes of Paapa Essiedu, RHODES, Leaf Lieber, Stefan Abingdon and many more.
In her latest offering “STICK THE KNIFE IN”, she dives into villain mode as she touches on a failed relationship. The compelling track, which is also the title song of her debut EP, seamlessly transitions from indie folk to ambient folk, weaving in elements of chamber pop and haunting melodies that captivate from the very first note.
“‘STICK THE KNIFE IN’ came from the voice in my heart saying; “I don’t care what he’s done I just want him back”. At the time I had to move from my heart to my head otherwise I don’t know what I would have done. My dear friend Livia O helped me piece together my sometimes scary writing and helped me make it into what is one of my favourite songs I’ve released.” — Ormella.
Ormella headlines The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington, London on Thursday 20th June 2024. Tickets are available to purchase here.
