German artist orbit shares ethereal new single “Ocean”
Marcel Heym launched orbit in 2020 following years of playing in bands with his brother. Known for his unconventional mix of raw acoustic sounds and bright electronica, his music may remind some listeners of 2010’s indie frontrunners such as M83, Bombay Bicycle Club and Ben Howard. His latest offering “Ocean” is an outstanding song that instantly draws you in and with its electronic-centred production and alluring vocals, it takes you on an ethereal journey. “Ocean” is taken from his upcoming second EP.
“Jumping into the ocean. The water is blue and tempting. The beauty of it makes me forget how dangerous it is at the same time. The further I dive in, the bigger the risk of getting hurt. With this song, I’m trying to describe the coexistence of love and pain and the bittersweetness between both” — orbit.
