Maya Yenn returns with new single “Better Luck Next Time”
It’s been almost a year since Maya Yenn dropped her last single “How Much Sadness Can You Swallow?”, which was recently awarded the Best Music Video at the British Independent Film Festival— she’s made a triumphant return with new single “Better Luck Next Time”.
Continuing her style of blending left-field productions with lyrical storytelling, “Better Luck Next Time” is written from the perspective of a young man whose has prioritised his career above everything else, so much so, he’s still trying to get a report out while his plane is going down.
Yenn’s vocals flow beautifully over the electronic-centred production which is giving us Billie Eilish vibes to create a sticky track with lyrics that standout from anything else out there. Accompanied by a striking lyric video, “Better Luck Next Time” is a spine-chilling dark pop song with infectious melodies throughout.
