Art-pop musician and producer Liyv shares new single “Damage”
Taken from her forthcoming sophomore album Matriarch, “Damage” continues the story that her previous single “Let Me Know” started. Lyrically, the song details the age-old question: “How can we feel safe in love when there are so many ways to be hurt?”— Liyv delivers a hauntingly beautiful vocal performance, enticing you into the narrative world that will become clear on the upcoming album.
The music video features a self-choreographed performance of Liyv dancing with the spectre of a potential relationship. They are seen pushing and pulling at each other as audio-reactive projection of a galaxy plays behind in a nod to the fatalistic pull our choices can have on us and our attempts at intimacy with others.
