For music lovers like myself, it’s always exciting to discover a great new artist with a huge potential, however for an artist releasing their debut single, that experience can be a little scary. Waiting for the release, wondering if people are going to like it when it drops and so on, is often what these new artists go through. Hailing from Edmonton, Canada, Twenty7 is a fresh new artist within the music scene, on her debut single “Eyes On You”, she delivers an alluring vocal performance over am impressive production and it was only right to get to introduce her properly, by getting to know her.

How are you doing Twenty7?
I’m doing well, thanks!
What’s the story behind your artist name?
Twenty7 (27) is the day I was born, it’s not really that deep but I instantly felt a connection to that name and so I went with it.
Interesting! Where are you from?
I was born in London, England, moved to Edmonton, Canada in 2009.
Nice! What artists inspired you to pursue music as a career?
I would say artists like Jhené Aiko, Lana Del Rey, Black Atlass and Majid Jordan. I love their music and vibe.
Amazing artists. How would you describe your sound in your own words?
I would describe it as mellow alternative pop music… if that makes sense haha.
Yeah, it makes sense to me haha. What message are you trying to convey on “Eyes On You”?
The message behind “Eyes On You” is that no matter how many heart breaks you go through you gotta just let your heart love again cause love is out there.
I feel that. Do you have any expectations for this single?
Honestly, I’m just happy that it’s finally out! No expectations I just hope people listen to it and can relate to it!
Can we expect more music from you?
Yes! I’m just getting started and I’ll be dropping new music soon! Already have my next single “Gone” in the works!
