House of EL links up with Saekyi on “Pull Up”
Kieron McIntosh, better known as House of EL, recently dropped an immediate follow up to his When It Rains It Pours EP, in the form of “Pull Up” — a solid collaboration with Virginia rapper Saekyi. Despite coming from two different worlds, they deliver a stunning track which effortlessly blends alternative R&B and alternative hip-hop. Both acts brilliantly detail their experiences and struggles as black creatives.
“I wrote ‘Pull Up’ with Saekyi – a US rapper from Virginia who’s making big waves in his city – we linked up over Instagram and kept talking about working together and this is the result! The two verses talk about the
different angles and struggles of coming up as black creatives. I made the beat in a hut up north on a solo writing trip, and then re-sampled it immediately needed that US flavour and Saekyi really went
