Erin LeCount — Heartbreak Hotel

Erin LeCount unveils stunning new single “Heartbreak Hotel”

Taken from her forthcoming debut EP Soft Skin, Restless Bones out on 17th August via Good As Gold Records, 20 year-old singer, songwriter and producer, and one of the UK’s most promising emerging artists, Erin LeCount is back with her stunning new single “Heartbreak Hotel”.

Yet again sounding wise beyond her young age, the Essex-based artist exudes confidence throughout as she delivers a breathtaking performance that will empower listeners and encourage self-love. Brilliantly-written and built over a compelling production (co-produced with Dom Valentino and Jakwob), “Heartbreak Hotel” is a captivating track with emotional undertones that you can cry to, dance to, or even rage to.

“‘Heartbreak Hotel’ is an upbeat, yet resentful reflection on the relationships in my life that have seen me trying to ‘fix’ partners and the expectation that is often placed on young women, to be rehabilitation centres for men, perform emotional labour and temporarily fulfil a mother or therapist role rather than be a girlfriend. All those built up frustrations and bitter feelings of being disposable or used gave me a chance in this song to get spiteful and vengeful rather than sad. ‘Check in, check out, I’m a hotel / My loves a rehab for boys who couldn’t save themselves’ is a playful retaliation against how unfair it feels to pour love into patching someone up, only for them to leave once they’ve received what they needed.”Erin LeCount.
