LA-based artist Colby Lafayette shares new single “DUMMY DUDE”
Boston-native, LA-based artist Colby Lafayette has been consistently dropping hits after hits, generating a crazy buzz along the way. Growing up, he listened to grunge legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath and Nirvana, as well as the genre-blending 2010’s hip-hop artists Odd Future, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar etc. There’s a reason why his music sounds like a combination of The Neighbourhood and Kendrick Lamar to us.
He recently dropped the alt-rock banger “DUMMY DUDE”, the second single off his upcoming EP FOR YOU, due out at the end of July. Lyrically, the song details the silly choices we make for love when we’re young— so relatable. Hope we get to see him perform live here in London one day.
“I wanted something that wasn’t so serious. We do stupid shit for love; we change for it. I was just offering up a chance to have whatever they wanted in a way that actually feels real” — Colby Lafayette.
