Charlotte OC — God, We Tried

Charlotte OC returns with powerful new single “God, We Tried”

Charlotte OC returns with “God, We Tried”, a breathtakingly raw single that marks a bold new era for the acclaimed singer-songwriter. Released via Embassy of Music, it’s the first taste of an upcoming EP set to release this Summer—one that sees stepping into full creative control, telling her story on her own terms.

Written in the aftermath of her father’s passing, “God, We Tried” captures the weight of love, loss and longing as Charlotte seeks refuge in a relationship that was never meant to last. Her vocals soar with heartbreaking sincerity, delivering one of the most captivating performances of the year—deeply personal yet strikingly universal.

“This song is deeply personal to me, I started writing it after my dad passed away. In my grief, I ended up in a relationship that probably wasn’t the healthiest choice for me, and I wasn’t truly allowing myself to heal. If I think about it, all I wanted was a male figure in my life, to fill a void. “God, We Tried” reflects the end of that relationship and the emotional complexity of trying to make something work when it really wasn’t right. It’s about love, loss, and the struggle to move forward while still processing deep grief.” Charlotte OC.
