BLÜ EYES — Friends With Benefits

LA-based rising star BLÜ EYES shares new single “Friends With Benefits”

It’s been almost 5 years since we covered BLÜ EYES‘ stunning debut single “Friendly Fire” on our old music blog. And since then, she’s gone from strength to strength, and is without a doubt one of the most exciting emerging artists on the planet right now.

Taken from her forthcoming EP The Last Songs I’ll Write About You which is out on 5th May via VERSION III, she recently released her latest single “Friends With Benefits”. The song effortlessly blends her bedroom pop production, and lyrically explores loss, identity and abandonment. Emotionally-driven and beautifully-written, BLÜ EYES shines and delivers a beautiful self-produced song that will connect with people from all walks of life.

“I wrote this song about what it feels like to be used in a friendship. I was best friends with someone for 3 years, and thought they genuinely cared about me as a person, but after an extremely messy friend breakup and a lot of reflection, I realized that their friendship was just a currency they used to buy my time, resources, and energy to serve their ulterior motives. It was not a fun realization, and I hope this song helps anyone in a similar situation feel validated & seen.”BLÜ EYES.

She’s coming to London at the end of May:

Friday 26th May @ The Grace

Sunday 28th May @ O2 Academy2 Islington
