Blake Shimoda releases stunning new single “Sick Forever”
Known for blending alternative R&B and pop with elements of rap and electronic music, Blake Shimoda is a new name to us, and today he makes his DNü debut with his stunning new single “Sick Forever”.
It’s his first release in over a year, and it’s the first of two singles he’s planning to release. His captivating vocals flow beautifully on top of the electronic-centred production (which is a big stylistic departure for him), to create a vibrant track which has replay value and reminds us just how valuable spending quality time with someone you love is.
“I wrote this song while I was sick and stuck in bed for a week with my girlfriend at the time. We had opposite work schedules and had to work so much that it was pretty rare for us to get to spend time together. Despite the fact that we were feeling awful, we actually both ended up enjoying being sick together. It was the first time in what felt like forever that we were able to spend some alone time together, and at the end of the week when we were feeling better we both found ourselves wishing it could have gone on for longer. I found that sentiment to be so sweet, that we’d be willing to keep feeling awful as long as it meant we could spend more time together.” — Blake Shimoda.
