21 year-old Toronto-based singer-songwriter Angelique is an exciting new name to the music scene. Drawing influences from alternative vocal styles, classic R&B and an experimental twist she has shaped her own sound through exploration of the self and the raw difficult emotions we feel. Her latest single “Wings (Freestyle)” is a breathtaking emotionally-driven song that will resonate with many listeners.
“Recording this song was very emotional, taking a lot out of me. I drew from various situations – moments where I let other people take more from me than I should have. I brought all of that anger and hurt into the booth, using the recording process as a way to air my true feelings and help myself heal. It was very therapeutic.
