Ama Lou Drops New Single “NORTHSIDE”

21 year-old rising star Ama Lou has released her brand new song “NORTHSIDE”, produced by Frank Dukes and Murda Beatz — the accompanying visual is an ode to the neighbourhood she grew up in, Stoke Newington. Both the audio and visuals (shot by her sister and collaborator Mahalia) are captivating and puts her on a list of emerging artists that could potentially make a breakthrough in the next year. A bright future ahead.

“I wrote the song after experiencing a personal homecoming last year. I travel a lot and live bicoastal so spending a lot of time living in LA I felt a little out of place coming back to the UK, but that feeling was quickly overrun by the satisfying feeling of knowing that I’m from North London, this is my town and it always will be. I wanted to create something with the energy of the Diddy and Mase videos from the mid 90s/early 2000s. Me and my sister worked on creating the right vibe, but going at it in our own way with a solid nod to the references. Also I managed to drag her from behind the camera haha – that’s her I’m pulling in towards the end of the video” — Ama Lou.
