Lyrically, she touches on her struggles with anxiety and the constant battle of letting go of control—adding a raw, emotional depth to the high-octane soundscape.
Overall, “no ctrl” is another bold step forward for ALBI., cementing her as an artist who isn’t afraid to confront personal struggles while experimenting with different genres and pushing her sound in new and unexpected directions.
“This song was written as a reminder to myself and the listener that when anxiety strikes and you find yourself wanting to take control of everything around you, there’s really no point. It doesn’t help you in any way and in my experience, it can make everything worse. Through trial and error I’ve learnt that there’s no point trying to control the things that are out of my hands, there’s no point in spiralling. Whilst it’s easier said than done, this song reminds me to let go and let life play out freely, or at least try to.” — ALBI.
