Toronto native Abra Taylor marks her return with stunning new single “Blue Light”
We’ve been paying close attention to Abra Taylor ever since she dropped “Riverbed”, a song we instantly fell in love with. Last year she also released the outstanding “Paris Is Burning”, which made our Top 100 favourite songs of 2021 list at #37. Not only is she blessed with one of the most breathtaking voices you’ll hear in music today, she’s also known for singing with raw emotion, delving into themes of lust, longing, pain and addiction.
Abra has been fairly quiet in the past few months, and today she marked her return with the stunning “Blue Light”, released independently. Built over a lush production which effortlessly matches with her captivating vocal performance to create a dark R&B vibe, she’s delivered another solid offering that showcases her ability as a writer and a vocalist, as well as showcases her immense potential. Let’s hope she releases more music this year.
